Mallard Ducks

I decided to draw some mallard ducks today, so I started with a few quick contour sketches to get myself warmed up. I’ve been trying to play more with mixed media, so today, I started with blocking in some shapes with gouache, and then I went in and added more detail with some brush pens, watercolor pencils, and Neocolor pastels.

I like some of the looser lines and textures I created here, especially with the Neocolors. I’m going to continue trying to keep my work more playful!
